I found the serial number - 9820630, can you tell me what year it is? Any ideas what I "should" have paid for this?
Thanks again....

They were built in the early 70's and it is hard to tell the worth without seeing. just a ball bark tells me most any skid loader is worth 5000 with good tires, good running condition and a good bucket. Some go for a little less but not much if they are operatable and easy on the eyes. If there are many things wrong the price would drop quickly. ....

Thanks again Art! You must spend a lot of time answering peoples questions here....you have been a big help many times. I think I got a fair deal on the 1740, it runs well, tires all match and are fair, bucket controls nice, just need a little TLC with the drive clutches or whatever is in there. I'm just going to use it to move some top soil for a couple weeks then will likely sell it.
Thanks again Art....
